photo friday theme – pets
Meet my dog Bailey. She is our second family dog adopted from the Human Society. I remember the girls picking her out from a litter of pups and her riding home in the lap of my daughter while she was looking at me with very intense eyes! I thought we had made a huge mistake, as I had only feared German Shepherd’s growing up. Bailey has turned out to be such a loyal and loving part of our family. I’m not saying that we didn’t have our share of moments… like when I found her in a pile of feathers from shredding my favorite pillow or chewing on my best shoes! She was a rascal for sure. Today, she is always by my side or resting nearby. She sounds fierce but loves people, and protects her hilltop!
Sometimes you just get lucky with a shot. It was St. Patrick’s Day and I started fooling around with the scarf. Well she didn’t try to take it off, so I took out the trusty iPhone. Bailey is “man’s best friend” and so happy to have a beautiful photo of her!
theme – natural light
I chose a photo from a trip to the Florida Keys. It has lovely natural light on the palm but also just has a dreamy quality about it.
theme – familiar faces
Oh Sport. You really know how to make someone feel guilty. Those sad little puppy dog eyes staring at me, begging me to give some love and attention. Wait a minute… those are Cheeze-Its in that bowl. Is this just a trick to sneak over and eat my snack? Don’t look so innocent. I’m on to you now. By the way mister, you are a dog not a cat, so get off the table for the thousandth time. -Diane
Theme – neglected
After being unimpressed by Key West, it actually turned out to be great for the photo activities on my list. The vacation with my family was wonderful but photographically, I felt the blahs. After sightseeing for 2 days and taking less than a dozen photos, I knew I needed some inspiration. After a texting war with Kim (my Photo Friday Friend), I jotted down all the Photo Friday Themes I was missing and needed to catch up on. It kind of became a fun treasure hunt. I like the idea of having a random list of words in my camera bag for inspiration. – Diane
theme – at rest
My dog Bailey loves to sit on the couch and hang her little head over the back pillow… resting and doggy dreaming. I used photoshop and liked the effect I achieved playing with the exposure. – KIM
theme – distance
This is my first time to a Yankee game, the new Yankee stadium and an opening day for professional baseball. The Yankees were playing the Red Sox (big rivalry!) and you could feel the excitement as everyone entered the stadium. My top picture was my first glimpse of the field… so cool. You could see them preparing the field and warm ups going on. Then the climb to the upper deck, grabbing our beer and dogs and getting to the seats. As you can see, distance was the how I viewed the game but thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. One to check off the bucket list – Kim
