Theme – Landscape 2014 by Kim
I had a difficult time with this theme which is crazy as I grew up with my mom and sister, and am a mother to two girls!
I chose this photo of my friend Renee who is the founder of Harvest Drive. She encompasses the female spirit of working to help others while managing to always be there for her family. Her strength, passion and endless persistance to do her best to assist the poor and to pass that community spirit to the next generation inspires all those who become involved in this non-profit. She always reminded me of the “Proverb Woman.”
Proverbs 31:10, 20, 29
10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Photo Friday Theme – Beast
Our shepherd Bailey has been pegged as one who thinks she is a “lap dog.” She loves to hang out with the family on the couch, go for walks and basically just likes to be where we are. The snow brings out a different side to our furry companion. She runs, digs, and hunts like a BEAST in the snow. Her favorite thing is to catch snowballs! It really makes me happy to see her have such a good time. — Kim
Photo Friday Theme – Climate
I loved how Diane associated her photo in the fog to her present feelings. Now she’s under the weather, but the climate truly does affect how I feel sometimes. The climate in the northeast has been quite crazy…. much different from my first winter. Last week we had temperatures of 1 degree (feeling like -20) and today its in the mid 40s. Fogged in yesterday and a beautiful dusk sky right now. I am trying to embrace all weather thrown at me up here but I am already planning a change of climate/latitude in the next month. As my favorite song plays….”Sunny and 75!”
Happy New Year,
Photo Friday Theme: The Big City
The Freedom Tower
A college friend of my husband worked on the Freedom tower before he sustained an injury. He told us the story of how the men working on this building added letters and the names of those who passed during 9/11. Their memory and spirit are built into what stands today.
