photo friday theme – end of summer
Nothing marks the end of summer like Labor Day, school starting and football!
We flew down for the big home game of the season – the University of Miami Hurricanes playing their old rivals the Florida Gators. My husband being a part of the football alumni always brings an opportunity to see old friends and teammates. We had a great view of the crazy student section and all the fun! The game was very exciting and was a nail biter down to the end. The pure joy and energy in the stadium was an incredible experience…. one I may not have experienced since the Hurricanes of the 1980′s.
Although I always hate to see Summer go – Welcome Autumn! – Kim
theme – activity
I’m trying to be a little creative here. This may only make sense in my mind but I hope you get the idea. The theme is activity. I chose this shot, which is void of the actual activity, because honestly, I’m not sure I will ever get to use it for anything else and I really like it. Hopefully you instantly recognize what activity would be taking place if I was not standing directly under the hoop shooting straight up to the sky. I don’t know what possessed me to take this shot (probably just because I am short and have to walk under it every time I park my car in the driveway) but I love the result. I will have to remember to look up more often and try to get all angels of the subject. - Diane
theme – distance
This is my first time to a Yankee game, the new Yankee stadium and an opening day for professional baseball. The Yankees were playing the Red Sox (big rivalry!) and you could feel the excitement as everyone entered the stadium. My top picture was my first glimpse of the field… so cool. You could see them preparing the field and warm ups going on. Then the climb to the upper deck, grabbing our beer and dogs and getting to the seats. As you can see, distance was the how I viewed the game but thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. One to check off the bucket list – Kim
theme – body
The theme “body” made my mind think of an athlete (maybe Diane may have directed me there)
which brings me to the many years at the softball field.
My daughter Megan played catcher and I was always impressed in the strength and flexibility
of the catcher’s legs as they have to hold themselves in a squatted position for most of their defensive game.
For the love of the game –Kim
theme – My Environment
For this theme, I would guess most people would pick some nice, scenic landscape, but not me. I chose a photo of my daughter playing softball. The softball season will begin tomorrow night at 6pm. This means my evenings will be spent at the softball field which makes this my environment, for the next few months. -Diane
