Early Morning Stretch

Only a dedicated fast pitch softball mom would find herself here, at the ball field before the sun comes up and Starbucks is open, on Mother’s Day. Of course being the coach’s wife also meant you couldn’t just drop off your daughter and wait for Starbucks to open. Oh no. You had to help with all the equipment, tents, chairs, coolers, score book, and line up sheets. Yes, the coaches always made sure every girl had a little flower to give to her mom after the games, but it was always that one special dad that didn’t coach that would go out of his way to get each of the coaches wives a Starbucks. He was the real hero of the morning. – Diane

Knuckles

theme – body

My first thought for this theme was a beautiful ballet dancer’s body. As I don’t know any ballet dancers and have never been to a ballet, my second thought was my knuckles. Over the past few years, I have noticed how much my knuckles resemble my mom’s. I found this photo of my mom while scanning in thousands of old family slides and instantly fell in love with it. Thankfully, with her hand in the photo I finally found a great way to show it off. I am not thrilled with this shot but, it was my first time using my camera on the tripod with the timer. I will eventually perfect this shot and scrapbook a page about my mom and the knowledge and character traits  she has given me. – Diane
