I instantly knew I would try to get a shot of Freckles for this theme. I just didn’t know how hard it would be. Freckles is 4 moths old and nothing but a cute ball of energetic mischief. So far, she has destroyed 4 pairs of flip-flops, 2 couch cushions, and 2 doggie beds. She is lucky she is so dang adorable (and leaving in a month with my daughter for school).
Due to the theme being black and white and not brown, I also took this shot. After looking at it, I thought I needed to wrangle you in with a cute puppy photo first.

Let me introduce you to Little Foot, my daughter’s bearded dragon. I am not a reptile person but I will admit this little guy grew on me. She was only home with him for the weekend but I can’t wait to have them both home for the summer. Little Foot will make a great model for me. He stays where you put him and he doesn’t hardly move. I have already gotten tons of ideas from all the cute instagram animals. (Cute BuBu the chinchilla is a favorite along with a hedgehog I forgot the name of.) I wonder if Little Foot fits into Barbie clothes? Just kidding…but the possibilities are endless. – Diane

This is our dog, Sport. He is a mischievous little guy. He is 8 years old and gets into everything. His favorite pastime is getting q-tips from the bathroom trash can and eating them. Gross! Another favorite of his is to catch frogs. Frogs are poisonous to dogs especially little ones. After we shove the kitchen sprayer down his throat when he gets one, he bounces off the walls. Maybe it’s his form of catnip, who knows. Speaking of cats, he thinks he is a cat. He likes to relax on top of the back of the couch like a cat would. He can even jump like a cat does. We think he may have been a circus dog in an earlier life. Even with all of his quirkiness, he is part of our family and we love him. - Diane
Just a small note about the photo: It wasn’t a very sharp photo but by using the poster edges filter, I was able to mask some of the blurriness. I’m so glad I was able to save these shot of him and his little mohawk.

This is Mack. I believe he is a 4-year-old blot hound. He belongs to my in-laws. They are in their 70′s and weren’t looking for a dog but after seeing him on the news, they knew he should be a part of their family. Mack was a rescue dog that was featured on their local news station’s adopt a pet segment. I recently spent 2 weeks on vacation with Mack, and I must say, he cracks me up. He has the personality of Eeyore. He barks twice if he needs to go out or wants food and then sits and waits for you to get it. He spends his day plopping down (with a huge sigh every time) wherever he is (although he prefers the couch or any free chair) and just watches everyone. He is content knowing he is loved. Mack is a great dog. – Diane

Meet my dog Bailey. She is our second family dog adopted from the Human Society. I remember the girls picking her out from a litter of pups and her riding home in the lap of my daughter while she was looking at me with very intense eyes! I thought we had made a huge mistake, as I had only feared German Shepherd’s growing up. Bailey has turned out to be such a loyal and loving part of our family. I’m not saying that we didn’t have our share of moments… like when I found her in a pile of feathers from shredding my favorite pillow or chewing on my best shoes! She was a rascal for sure. Today, she is always by my side or resting nearby. She sounds fierce but loves people, and protects her hilltop!
Sometimes you just get lucky with a shot. It was St. Patrick’s Day and I started fooling around with the scarf. Well she didn’t try to take it off, so I took out the trusty iPhone. Bailey is “man’s best friend” and so happy to have a beautiful photo of her!

Oh Sport. You really know how to make someone feel guilty. Those sad little puppy dog eyes staring at me, begging me to give some love and attention. Wait a minute… those are Cheeze-Its in that bowl. Is this just a trick to sneak over and eat my snack? Don’t look so innocent. I’m on to you now. By the way mister, you are a dog not a cat, so get off the table for the thousandth time. -Diane
